The start of season 2

8 months later....Maho is back in the water, woo hoo!

8 months later Maho has new bottom paint (we went teal), has a new stripe color (grey), a straightened rudder, all other stripes and adhesives have been removed and she has been totally polished (what a project that was!), sail drives serviced, heat exchanger cleaned, main winch serviced, replaced zincs, new strainers installed, new lithium batteries and solar controllers, rigging inspected and tensioned, a new traveler system with new line, installed a new davit pulley system for the dingy, installed new anchor and tricolor bulbs, replaced deck light, new lights under the bench seat, a new stove installed, and no more oven (removed that since we never used it), assessed AIS and Radar and installed the digital yacht to ensure we can send and receive AIS targets and see them on our chart (safety), the dingy got a full scrub, new lettering, and fin installed. WOW! no wonder we feel broke.

We stayed at the dock for a week to install the new battery system and solar controllers as well as the traveler system for the sails.

We provisioned...

We drove home for Claire's last week of work and to make our final load to officially move back on Maho. We untied from the dock on Dec 15 and the start of season 2 began! We met up with Alex from SV Isabela with perfect timing and started the first leg to Daytona
